Tom Cruise Iron Man & Tobey Spider-Man in Dr Strange 2? Evidence has leaked!<

We thought we had seen everything in terms of cross-over with Spider-Man No Way Home which made us meet three generations of Spider-Man, but that was without counting on the hidden ambitions of Marvel Studios. According to some rumors and some relevant leaks, the film could be an opportunity to introduce variants of heroes who have disappeared and who we will be able to bring back from other universes. Would you like to see Tobey Maguireen Spider-Man again, for example? And Ben Affleck who would put on his Daredevil costume for a cameo? What if Iron Man was played by Tom Cruise? All this is obviously possible thanks to the Multiverse and today there are leaks that lead us to believe that all this is being prepared. Because yes, the 6 weeks of Dr Strange 2 reshoots that took place between October and December 2021 were obviously there to introduce a lot of new quirky characters. It's time to analyze all this together...

As we know, since the end of Avengers Endgame and the departure of some of its greatest actors, Marvel Studios must renew itself. Phase 4 aims to introduce new characters, sometimes unknown to the general public like Shang-Chi, to install new challenges, but also slowly but surely to make people accept that we are also heading towards the Young Avengers. With the insolent success of Spider-Man No Way Home which crossed 1.7 billion dollars at the worldwide box office, Marvel Studios is now certain of one thing: the multiverse is ultra-bankable and with it the infinite possibility of play with the impossible and especially the nostalgia of the spectators. And precisely, what better film than Dr Strange 2 and its completely crazy multiverse to continue to bet on this element which could once again explode the box office? While the film is not expected before May 6, 2022, the latter is already the subject of the craziest theories and the first serious leaks are starting to emerge. The first is none other than a stolen photo taken on the set of the film and which shows us Tom Cruise in performance outfit captured with a look that is surprising to say the least, since it is neither more nor less than that of Tony Stark, or at least his variant.

And why can we consider this photo as plausible and a real leak? Quite simply because we know since 2020 that the actor had been approached by Marvel Studios to play a variant of Tony Stark from another universe. The choice of Tom Cruise to play the billionaire playboy and philanthropist is not a trivial choice, since the actor had already been approached for the role of Tony Stark in the early 2000s, long before Marvel Studios set his sights on Robert Downey Jr. So that would be a good way for Marvel to reference their top pick. And then if we closely analyze this photo, we see that the costume worn by Tom Cruise is the same as that worn by the actors who must be reworked in post-production to shape their armor. There is of course Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man, but also Tom Holland in Spider-Man and Mark Ruffalo when he is in Hulk.

Another detail that does not deceive, if we observe the border of the image, we see the end of a yellow glove, which obviously seems to be that of Stephen Strange. But then, what would be the role of this Tony Stark / Iron Man Tom Cruise version? According to some rumors, it could well be a variant belonging to Marvel's Illuminati group, which is a secret association of superheroes collaborating in the shadows and composed according to the comics of Iron Man (which represents the Avengers-type heroes), Mr Fantastic (representing science heroes), Namor, who rules the oceans and represents those perceived as anti-heroes, Black Arrow, who is the spokesperson for the Inhumans, Doctor Strange, who represents the heroes of the mystical side and Professor Xavier, who is the one who represents the mutants. And that's why other insistent rumors point to the presence of the X-Men in the film that Disney bought from Fox in 2019, with the cameo appearance of Professor Xavier, either in the guise of Patrick Stewart, or of James MacAvoy.

Other hallway noises announce a plethora of cameos as fun as they are improbable like Ben Affleck who could put on the Daredevil costume, just to draw a line under one of his worst roles, just like Chris Evans in the role by Johnny Storm, but the actor having definitely turned the page on the MCU, coming back for a just funny happening, we don't really believe it... On the other hand, there is a return that must be taken very seriously, it's Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. Since his return to No Way Home, the actor seems ready to put on the costume again and like Andrew Garfield, not only to amuse the spectators for the time of a cross-over film, but in a more permanent way. Why would that make sense? First of all because there is a good chance that Andrew Garfield is gone to become the Spider-Man of the Sony Universe again, but also because the director of Dr Strange 2 is none other than Sam Raimi, that one even to whom we owe the first Spider-Man trilogy in the early 2000s. Bringing Tobey back to the multiverse would therefore be a nice nod to their past collaboration and the opportunity to thrill the spectators who ask again.

Another element that leads us to believe that the shooting with Tobey has already taken place: a photo of Mariana Torres, who is none other than the Portuguese dubbing actress of Wanda Maximoff, who took a photo of herself with Manolo Rey, who is none other than the official voice of Tobey Maguire in Portuguese. A photo posted on his Instagram account in Story and which was deleted fairly quickly, but too late for the Internet. The worst thing is that Mariana Torres wrote on the photo: "Good things are coming!!!", enough to prove to us that Tobey Maguire will still delight us in the MCU. Will he be there as a cameo, or will he aid Stephen Strange in his fight against himself and his new enemies? We can already start fantasizing.

If all these cameos and crossovers seem to be meticulously prepared by Marvel, we must not forget that the multiverse has not been an easy test, especially for the writers. Recently, we learned that Spider-Man No Way Home has been a pain in the ass to put together, especially due to COVID and the timeline being completely turned upside down. Because we must not forget that initially, Spider-Man: No Way Home was originally supposed to be released after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Initially, it was May 2021 for Dr Strange 2 and July 2021 for Spider-Man No Way Home. One of the screenwriters Chris McKenna explained that when he started writing the story for Spider-Man: No Way Home, he had to incorporate what happened in Doctor Strange 2, but COVID changed everything. And this change of schedule pushed the screenwriters to tinker, even improvise. It is no coincidence that Dr Strange 2 went back to reshoot between October and December 2021, because we have to match the schedule of all the actors. What give us grain to grind until May 6, the release date of this Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
