How will fashion houses present their collections after the confinement?<

Gucci

The announcement was posted on Alessandro Michele's personal Instagram account. Gucci's creative director explained that the pace of the big Italian fashion house's runway shows would be slowed down. In a nutshell: abandoning seasonality and presenting shows only twice a year. “I feel the urgent need to change a lot of things in the way I work. I have always been professionally inclined to change, after all, bringing with me a natural and joyful creative restlessness. But this crisis has somehow amplified such a transformative urgency, which can't be deferred anymore,” explained Alessandro Michele in his Instagram post.

British Fashion Council

The end of April 2020 was also marked by an announcement from the British Fashion Council. The organisation revealed to the general public a brand new alternative to London Fashion Week. The idea? To merge men's and women's fashion shows on an online and non-gendered platform. Numerous events with big names in fashion are also on the programme. See you in June 2020 for the first ever fully connected London Fashion Week.

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI)

While at the end of April, London Fashion Week explained its shift move to digital this summer, Milan is now unveiling the same ambitions. From July 14 to 17, 2020, the "Milano Digital Fashion Week - July Issue" will take place entirely online. On the programme: presentation of the men's Spring/Summer 2021 collections and the women's and men's pre-collections for Spring/Summer 202... All on a digital platform that will be available on the cameramoda.it website as well as on the association's social media. This varied programme will not only unveil the new collections: videos, interviews and photographic content will also be on display.

Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM)

Paris Fashion Week will also go digital this year. Indeed, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode is launching "Paris Fashion Week® online", a fully connected project that will take place from July 9 to 13, 2020 around a dedicated platform. The Spring/Summer 2021 men's collections will be presented there. The idea is that each participating house will be presented in the form of a film and/or a creative and free video, and the platform will also present other content to enrich the event. Another key aspect is that the "Paris Fashion Week® Showroom", which honors emerging labels, is this year metamorphosing into a virtual showroom.

How will fashion houses present their collections after the confinement?

On May 28, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode announced a 100% online event dedicated to haute couture collections. From July 6 to 8, the houses will follow one another, respecting the traditional calendar, on a digital platform where they will present their collections in a free video format.

Ermenegildo Zegna

The Italian menswear label is organising a digital presentation to share its Spring/Summer 2021 collection with the general public. “I have always wanted to use alternative formats to communicate my creative process to an even wider audience. The idea that this season I will present the collection with a digital tool gives me great energy and freedom of thought because I can finally enter directly into people's homes,” explained Alessandro Sartori, artistic director of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, which celebrates its 110th anniversary this year.

Pyer Moss

As Fashion Week calendars go digital this summer, Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss offers an alternative to the catwalk by organizing a drive-in to showcase his film American, Also, the name of his Spring/Summer 2019 collection. An event that will take place during New York Fashion Week in September, and which will follow the rules of public health and social distancing to the letter. The film, which has been in preparation for two years, will follow Kerby Jean-Raymond and his entire team in preparation for the Pyer Moss show in September 2019 at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. This "drive-in" will also be accessible to the public. The details and location of the event will be revealed this summer.
