Cannes 2021: Bella Hadid, impressive in a Jean Paul Gaultier dress from 2002<

On the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, the stars were numerous to put the package for this 74th edition. But Bella Hadid was able to attract all eyes.

She is the one we look forward to. What else has she planned? Will she be in pants or a designer dress? Bella Hadid has managed, in just a few years, to become an event in its own right. Its appearance at the Cannes Film Festival delights fashion fans because it is synonymous with a spectacular spectacle on the red carpet. Yesterday marked the start of the 2021 Festival, more than two years after the last edition. On the Croisette, celebrities follow suit, from Queen Mylène Farmer to the talented Spike Lee (and his remarkable outfit from the Jordan x PSG collaboration) via the hypnotizing Leïla Bekhti. But the one the fashion world was looking forward to was the supermodel of her generation, Bella Hadid. And in the best-dressed game, she won hands down. Bella Hadid was dressed in a Jean Paul Gaultier dress from the Spring-Summer 2002 Haute Couture collection. A jewel of extravagance found in the archives of the house. The dress consists of a main white structure in a bustier and underneath a black tulle that hides the chest which turns into an imperial train. Seen from the sky, the spectacle offered by the dress is divine. To complete the silhouette, Gigi Hadid's sister opted for imposing dangling diamond earrings and styled her hair in a very elaborate bun. The darling of photographers was then able to find her look-alike and modeling mentor Carla Bruni, also present at the event.

A high-level opening ceremony

We have seen much less bombastic rises in fashion. But people seem to be so happy to be able to tread this red carpet again, that they have called on all the most prestigious fashion houses. Marion Cotillard and Angèle, perfect Chanel muses, performed in elegant dresses from the double C brand. Jessica Chastain, she did not fail to seduce the audience with her Dior branded bustier. Finally, Camelia Jordana brought a nice boost with her fuchsia pink dress from Valentino.
