Since January 2021, the young seamstress has decided to embark on a three hundred and sixty degree turn for her ready-to-wear brand, Kimpaa Paris, by devoting it to the field of weddings. “With the health crisis, I was no longer coping. I then looked for a new identity for my brand that could appeal to customers,” explains Christelle Bahezi.

Unique dresses designed in Meaux

In January 2022, the young woman will officially launch Kimpaa Paris on the wedding dress market, “but I am already taking orders for those who wish”. The strong point of its brand: everything is tailor-made. The bride-to-be can contact Christelle Bahezi and describe her dream dress for D-Day.

After this exchange, the seamstress can start designing the dress, which will therefore be a unique model. “There are several stages. I start with the pattern that the bride will wear to see the measurements. Then I add a fabric for a second fitting to define the final shape. Once this step is completed, I make the dress with the real chosen fabric.”

Ethical and responsible dresses

Beyond her high standards of herself, Christelle Bahezi is committed to offering quality, ethical and responsible products.

Ecology also has an important place in the Kimpaa Paris brand since the seamstress tries as much as possible to avoid waste by using fabric scraps from major haute couture houses. “These are values that I want to highlight. In my everyday life, I try not to buy clothes anymore and create everything myself”.

A brand set to develop in Congo

If her brand of wedding dresses develops, Christelle Bahezi hopes to be able to bring it to Congo, her country of origin. “The idea would be to set up a workshop there and build a bridge between France and the Congo”. Wedding dresses could therefore be made between two countries and two cultures.

For the moment, she is content to create her dresses in her small workshop on rue Saint-Christophe, with the desire to think bigger.
