Alessandro Sartori returns to Ermenegildo Zegna<

(AFP) - Alessandro Sartori, who left Bottier Berluti on Monday, was appointed artistic director of the Zegna group, where he will be in charge "all brands and lines", replacing Stefano Pilati, announced the Italian house ina statement.

He will take office in June and his first collection, for fall-winter 2017, will parade in Milan in January 2017, the group said in a press release.

Sartori, 49, had directed the sport line of Ermenegildo Zegna, Zegna, before entering Berluti (LVMH group), for whom he launched the first ready-to-wear collection in November 2011.

"I have known Alessandro and his style for many years and I am enthusiastic to welcome him again in the group," said CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna, Gildo Zegna, quoted in the press release.

"His talent and creativity, combined with his passion and modernity, make him a perfect candidate to help us develop a new phase of Zegna," he added.

The Ermenegildo Zegna group, whose headquarters are in Milan (North), announced on Wednesday that it separated from its artistic director Stefano Pilati, in office since 2012.

Trained at Cerruti, Armani and Miu Miu before entering Yves Saint-Laurent where he had performed the functions of artistic director for eight years, Stefano Pilati, 50, could enter Lanvin, in place of Alber Elbaz.

Founded in 1910, the family group Zegna, one of the world leaders in high-end male ready-to-wear, recorded in 2014 a turnover of 1.210 billion euros and net profits of 71 millioneuros.
